Ryan earned his B.Sc. from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2015, having double majored in Pharmacology and Biopsychology. While at school, he pursued research at the Vision and Image Understanding Lab, working primarily on human and computer vision models, as well as in the UCSB Pharmacology Lab, mainly focusing on apoptotic pathways.
Ryan's main area of expertise in the lab is to help streamline data import, layout and processing using advanced Microsoft Excel and R, an open-source statistical and graphics software. “The bigger the dataset, the better!” Ryan is also experienced in mouse and vole handling, intracranial surgeries, behavior testing, EEG signal processing, and brain microdissections.
Outside of lab, Ryan enjoys making music, tinkering with electronics, and exploring the outdoors.
